EVENTS AFFECTING CTA SERVICE BEGINNING THE WEEKEND OF AUGUST 27 - 29

Single Track in Effect on Red Line over the WeekendDue to the rehabilitation of the Dan Ryan branch of the Red Line, single track service will be in effect southbound between 23rd and 45th Streets from 8 p.m. Friday until 4 p.m. Saturday and northbound in the same location from 8 p.m. Saturday until 4 p.m. Sunday.

Late Night Single Track in Effect on Red Line Monday through Next ThursdaySingle track service will be in effect from 11 p.m. until 4 a.m. along several sections of the Dan Ryan Red Line Monday night, August 30 through Thursday night, September 2 according to the following schedule:

Monday night southbound between 87th and 95th Streets

Tuesday night northbound between 55th and 45th Streets

Wednesday night northbound between 95th and 87th Streets

Thursday night southbound between 55th and 63rd Streets

Customers should allow extra travel time.

Red Line By-Pass Tracks in ServiceCTA will discontinue use of the by-pass tracks between 30th and 34th Streets this weekend when trains return to the main track.

CTA trains continue using by-pass tracks between 92nd and 96th Streets until early October.

Customers will continue to board trains at their normal stations.

Additional Service Provided for Bears Pre-Season Game Friday NightAdditional service will be provided on the #12 Roosevelt and #146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express bus routes serving Soldier Field for the Bears pre-season game against the New Orleans Saints at 7:30 p.m. Friday.CTA's #128 Soldier Field Express route also will operate between the Ogilvie Transportation Center, Union Station and Soldier Field for the game. Additional service on all three routes will begin at 5 p.m. Service will continue until one hour after the game ends or as crowds warrant.

#78 Montrose Buses Will Not Serve Montrose Beach SaturdaySimmonds Drive will be closed from between Foster and Montrose from 6:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. for the McDonald's Kid's Fleet Feet Super Sprint Triathlon.During this time, #78 Montrose buses will only travel as far as Wilson/Marine and not enter Montrose Beach.

Columbus Drive Closes for Triathlon over the WeekendColumbus will be closed between Roosevelt and Balbo from 2 p.m. Saturday until 7 p.m. Sunday for the Accenture Chicago Triathlon. The setup takes place Saturday, the events take place on Sunday. On Saturday, northbound #6 Jackson Park Express, #10 Museum of Science & Industry, #14 Jeffery Express buses will operate via Columbus, Roosevelt to Michigan, then resume the regular route. Southbound buses will operate via Balbo to Lake Shore Drive, then resume the regular route.

Northbound #146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express buses will operate via Columbus, Roosevelt to Michigan, then resume the regular route. Southbound buses will operate via Balbo, Lake Shore Drive, to McFetridge, then resume the regular route.

#12 Roosevelt buses will operate in both directions via Michigan, 14th, Wabash, back to Roosevelt, then resume the regular route.

#130 Grant Park Treasures buses will be routed to streets adjacent to the triathlon events.

Sunday's triathlon activities will begin at 6:30 a.m. During the running and biking portions of the race, there may be intermittent service delays or temporary reroutes on the above routes.

Game Time Changes for Cubs on SaturdayThe Cubs will play the Houston Astros at 3:05 p.m. Saturday instead of 1:20 p.m.The usual additional game service provided on the #22 Clark, #152 Addison, #154 Wrigley Field Express bus routes and the Red Line will accommodate this scheduling change.
