Additional Service Provided for Bears Pre-Season Games Friday
CTA will provide additional and later service on the #12 Roosevelt, #128 Soldier Field Express and #146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express for the Bears pre-season games Friday, August 18 against the San Diego Chargers and Friday, August 25 against the Arizona Cardinals. The games begin at
7 p.m.
#12 Roosevelt will operate additional buses between State Street and Soldier Field.
#128 Soldier Field Express will operate non-stop between the Ogilvie Transportation Center, Union Station and Soldier Field for the convenience of Bears fans. Service begins two hours before the games and continues for 30 minutes after kickoff. After the game, buses leave Soldier Field every few minutes for one hour.
The special fare for #128 buses is $1 for full fare customers and 50 cents for reduced fare customers. The exact cash fare is required to receive the special rate.
#146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express will operate additional buses to Soldier Field every few minutes for two hours before games start and one hour after games end.
In addition to the extra bus service, CTA will operate longer Red, Orange and Green Line trains for customers traveling to and from Soldier Field. The stations are at Roosevelt and State, a few blocks west of the stadium. CTA will operate longer trains and provide additional Customer Assistants at the Roosevelt Green and Orange Line elevated and the Red Line subway stations to assist fans.
Additional Service Provided for Air & Water Show Saturday and Sunday
CTA will provide additional service for customers traveling to and from the Chicago Air & Water Show this weekend along the lakefront from Oak Street Beach to Fullerton.
Among the routes with additional service are the #72 North and #151 Sheridan, which operate close to all of the activities. Extra buses on those routes begin at 7 a.m. Saturday and Sunday.

North Avenue Beach Temporarily Closed for Air & Water Show
North Avenue Beach is closed until 3 p.m. Monday, August 21. #72 North buses will travel as far as North and Clark instead of continuing east to North Avenue Beach.
Brown Line Kedzie and Rockwell Stations Re-open
The Kedzie and Rockwell stations on the Brown Line have re-opened to rail service. While some construction work at the stations will continue, the majority of the work ? including accessibility to customers with disabilities ? has been completed allowing customers to return to their regular stations.
Blue Line Signal Upgrade:
CTA is working to upgrade approximately 20 miles of the existing 40-year-old train control system and power supply equipment from the Forest Park terminal of the Blue Line Forest Park branch through the Dearborn subway to the Jefferson Park station of the Blue Line O'Hare branch. These systems ensure the safe operation and movement of trains and the appropriate speed and distance between trains as well as help CTA personnel manage rail service in the event of an emergency.
The upgraded signal system will result in improved reliability of service for Blue Line customers, and also includes upgrades to the power cables and communication system needed to connect the Red Line State Street subway and Blue Line Dearborn Street subway.
Late Night Single Track in Effect on Blue Line Forest Park Branch This Weekend
Single tracks will be in effect on the Blue Line Forest Park branch this weekend. A three-phase single track will be in effect between the Cicero and Kedzie-Homan stations Friday,
August 18 and Saturday, August 19.
From 11 p.m. Friday until 2 a.m. Saturday, the single track will be in effect between the Pulaski and Kedzie-Homan stations. North and southbound customers boarding at Pulaski and Kedzie-Homan stations must board on the south side of the platform.
From 2 a.m. until 6 a.m. Saturday, the single track will be in effect between the Cicero and Kedzie-Homan stations. North and southbound customers boarding at the Cicero, Pulaski and Kedzie-Homan stations must board on the south side of the platform.
From 6 a.m. until 8 a.m. Saturday, the single track will be in effect between the Pulaski and Kedzie-Homan stations. North and southbound customers boarding at Pulaski and Kedzie-Homan will board on the south side of the platform.
A three-phase single track will be in effect between the Kedzie-Homan and Cicero stations Saturday, August 19 and Sunday, August 20.
From 11:59 p.m. Saturday until 2 a.m. Sunday, the single track will be in effect between the Kedzie-Homan and Pulaski stations. North and southbound customers boarding at the Kedzie-Homan station must board on the north side of the platform.
From 2 a.m. until 6 a.m. Sunday, the single track will be in effect between the Kedzie-Homan and Cicero stations. North and southbound customers boarding at the Kedzie-Homan, Pulaski and Cicero stations must board on the north side of the platform.
From 6 a.m. until 8 a.m. Sunday, the single track will be in effect between the Kedzie-Homan and Pulaski stations. North and southbound customers boarding at the Kedzie-Homan station must board on the north side of the platform.
Customers should allow extra travel time.
Red Line - Dan Ryan Branch Rehabilitation:
CTA is working to replace track, power and signal systems and upgrade stations along the branch. When the work is completed, customers will experience more reliable service and modern station amenities.

Late Night Single Track in Effect on Red Line Next Week
A single track will be in effect between 33rd and 45th from
11 p.m. Monday, August 21 until 4 a.m. Tuesday, August 22 and again in the same location, during the same hours Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights. North and southbound customers boarding at the Sox-35th station must board on the east side of the platform.
Customers should allow extra travel time.
Late Night Single Track in Effect on Orange Line Monday through Friday
Beginning Monday, August 21 single tracks will be in effect on the Orange Line at various locations for maintenance from
9 p.m. until 4 a.m. Monday, August 21 through Friday,
August 25.
On Monday, north and southbound customers boarding at 35th/Archer station must board on the southbound side of the platform. On Tuesday, August 22 through Thursday, August 24, customers boarding at Western station must board on the southbound side of the platform. Customers board on their regular sides during Friday's single track.
Customers should allow extra travel time.
Single Track in Effect During Subway Clean up
A two-phase single track will be effect on Sunday, August 20 between LaSalle station and Halsted station on the Blue Line while crews conduct a subway clean up. From 10 p.m. Sunday until 1 a.m. Monday, northbound and southbound customers boarding at LaSalle, Clinton and Halsted must board on the northbound platform. From 1 a.m. Monday, August 21 until
4 a.m. north and southbound customers must board on the southbound side of the platform
On Monday, August 21 a single track will be in effect between the Damen and Grand stations on the Blue Line from
11:59 p.m. until 4 a.m. Tuesday, August 22. North and southbound customers boarding at Division/Milwaukee, Chicago and Grand stations must board on the southbound side of the platform.
Jackson Closes for Taste of Austin Festival Over Weekend
Jackson will be closed between Central and Austin for the Taste of Austin Festival from 9 a.m. Friday, August 18 until
6 p.m. Sunday, August 20. #126 Jackson buses will operate in both directions via Jackson, Central, Madison and Austin, and back to the terminal at Jackson.
Devon Closes for India Independence Parade Saturday
Devon will be closed between California and Western from
11 a.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday, August 19. #155 Devon buses will operate in both directions via Devon, Kedzie, Lincoln, Peterson, Western and Devon, then resume the regular route.
Additional Service Provided to Lakefront Pavilion for Concert Saturday
The #130 Grant Park Treasures will provide additional service for customers traveling to the Mary J. Blige concert at the Charter One Pavilion at Northerly Island Saturday, August 19. The concert begins at 8 p.m.
The #130 operates in both directions between the Ogilvie Transportation Center and Union Station to the Museum Campus on weekends and holidays through Labor Day.
