Experimental Route Changes Implemented Last Year
The Chicago Transit Authority will hold a public hearing to present its proposal to permanently adopt service changes for bus routes in Evanston, Skokie and North Rogers Park. The meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 27 at the Evanston Civic Center in the City Council Chambers, located at 2100 N. Ridge. The facility is accessible to people with disabilities.
Implemented in June 2003, the changes were designed to improve connections between the CTA bus routes and 'L' lines, increase service frequency, establish Saturday service on Ridge and Dodge Avenues, and improve coordination between CTA, Metra and Pace.
The affected routes serving the Evanston, Skokie and North Rogers Park communities are: #11 Lincoln, #93 California/Dodge, #96 Lunt, #200 Main Shuttle, #201 Central/Ridge, #202 Main/Emerson, #203 Ridge/Grant, #204 Dodge, #205 Chicago/Golf and #206 Evanston Circulator.
Throughout the course of the experimental period, adjustments were made to more effectively meet the needs of customers.
The public has until Friday, July 30 to comment on the proposal by writing to Chicago Transit Authority, P.O. Box 3555, Chicago, IL 60654, Attention: Gregory Longhini, Assistant Secretary. E-mail comments may also be submitted by Friday, July 30 by emailing [email protected].
