January 6, 2006
1/6/06

The Chicago Transit Authority will hold community meetings to discuss the findings of its West Side Corridor Study and obtain public comment. CTA embarked on the study to evaluate West Side and west suburban service and to develop a comprehensive picture of the service needs of the communities.

The community meetings will be held at the following locations from 6 to 8 p.m.

January 10
University of Illinois - Student Center West
828 S. Wolcott Avenue
2nd Floor, Chicago Rooms, A and B

January 11
10th District Police Station
3315 W. Ogden Avenue
Community Room

January 12
Howard Mohr Community Center
7640 W. Jackson Boulevard
Forest Park, Illinois

As part of the study, CTA conducted nine interactive workshops in July and August 2004 that brought CTA and West Side residents together to discuss how to enhance service.

The Chicago Transit Board has designated funding in the 2006 budget for West Side and west suburban service enhancements.

CTA's planning staff will consider feedback provided by community members when it develops service recommendations to present to the Chicago Transit Board for approval.
