15 CTA Buses Rerouted Due to Late Night Closure of State Street

Due to construction and street repairs, State Street will be closed to all traffic between Madison and Randolph for two nights this week and three nights next week.

From 11:59 p.m. each night to 5 a.m. the following morning beginning Wednesday night, September 17 through Friday morning, September 19 and then again from Monday night, September 22 through Thursday morning, September 25, the following 15 CTA bus routes will be detoured:

Southbound late night #4 Cottage Grove buses will travel over the regular route along Randolph to Dearborn then will operate via Dearborn, Wacker, Wacker Place to Michigan and then resume the regular route south of Washington. Northbound #4 buses are not affected and will operate over the regular route.

Southbound #6 Jackson Park Express, #10 Museum of Science & Industry, #29 State, #36 Broadway, #62 Archer and #146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express buses will operate over the regular route along State to Randolph then travel via Randolph, Clark, Monroe to State and then resume the regular route. Northbound #6, #36 and #62 buses are not affected and will operate over the regular route.

Northbound #29 State buses will travel over the regular route along State to Madison then operate via Madison, Dearborn, Wacker to State and then resume the regular route.

Northbound #10 Museum of Science & Industry, #145 Wilson/Michigan Express and #146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express buses will operate over the regular route along State to Monroe then will travel via Monroe to Michigan and will resume the regular route north of Lake.

Eastbound #20 Madison and southbound #56 Milwaukee buses will travel over the regular route along Washington to Clark then will operate via Clark, Monroe, Michigan to Madison and then resume the regular route. Westbound #20 and northbound #56 buses are not affected and will travel along the regular route.

Northbound late night #22 Clark buses will not operate the night owl route of Washington, State and Randolph. Instead, northbound #22 buses will travel along Dearborn only and will pick up customers at the farside stop at Dearborn/Madison.

Eastbound late night #60 Blue Island/26th buses will travel over the regular route along Washington to Wacker and then will operate via Wacker, Monroe, Michigan to Madison and then resume the regular route. Westbound #60 buses are not affected and will travel over the regular route.

Eastbound late night #66 Chicago buses will operate over the regular route along Madison to Dearborn and then will travel via Dearborn, Wacker to Michigan and then resume the regular route. Westbound #66 buses will travel the reverse route.

Northbound #147 Outer Drive Express and #151 Sheridan buses will travel over the regular route along State to Monroe and then will operate via Monroe to Michigan and then resume the regular route north of Washington. Southbound #147 and #151 buses are not affected and will travel over the regular route.
