Rail Service Changes
PURPLE LINE EXPRESS
Effective Mon, Dec 29
Purple Line Express Resumes Normal Clockwise Loop Routing
Purple Line Express trains will resume operation in the clockwise direction around the Loop Elevated. Trains will operate to the Loop every 8 to 15 minutes during the morning and afternoon rush periods, instead of every 15 minutes.
BROWN LINE

More Frequent Service
Brown Line trains will operate every 4 to 7 minutes during the morning and afternoon rush periods, instead of every 5 to 7-1/2 minutes.
Bus Service Changes

#3 King Drive Route Improvement
#3 King Drive buses will operate in both directions on Michigan between Roosevelt and 16th Street, instead of Indiana.

#N9 Ashland (Owl) Route Extension
Buses will operate east on North Avenue to Clark. Service operates between 2am and 3:45am.

#12 Roosevelt Route Change
Eastbound buses will operate via Roosevelt and Indiana to end their trips at 16th. Westbound buses will begin their trips at Indiana/16th and will operate via 16th, Michigan, and Roosevelt.

#18 16th/18th Route Improvement
Eastbound buses will operate via 18th, Halsted, and Roosevelt, ending their trips at Roosevelt/Michigan. Westbound buses will begin their trips on Roosevelt at the Roosevelt (Red, Green, Orange lines) station.

#21 Cermak Route Extension
Buses will operate south of McCormick Place to Mercy Hospital, daily until early evening.

#91 Austin Earlier and Later Service
Weekdays – Buses will operate 20 minutes earlier and end 20 minutes later. Sundays/Holidays – Buses will operate one hour earlier.

#146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express Route Change
Buses will operate via State and Roosevelt, and will stop at the Roosevelt (Red, Green, Orange lines) station. Buses will continue to serve the Museum Campus. Later evening service also will be extended to serve the Roosevelt (Red, Green, Orange lines) station.

#35 35th Route Change
Buses will no longer operate north of 35th/Cottage Grove to either Michael Reese or Mercy hospitals.

#44 Wallace/Racine Service Hours Change
Northbound weekday evening service from Racine/87th will end 50 minutes earlier at 11:20pm. Southbound weekday evening service from Halsted (Orange Line) station will end 50 minutes earlier at 12:05am.

#48 South Damen Route Change
Buses will begin and end their trips at the Western/49th (Orange Line) station and will no longer serve the 35th/Archer (Orange Line) station. Buses will also be extended south of 87th Street and will begin and end their trips at The Plaza Shopping Center at Western/97th.

#57 Laramie Later Weekday Service
Buses will operate 1 ½ to 2 hours later on weekday evenings, every 15 minutes.

#120 - Eastbound weekday evening service ends at 5:45pm.
#121 - Eastbound weekday evening service begins at 4:05 pm.
#122 - Eastbound weekday evening service ends at 5:55 pm. Westbound service ends at 6:05 pm.

#129 West Loop/South Loop Route Extension
Buses will operate south of 18th/Indiana to McCormick Place via Indiana and Cermak.

#143 Stockton/Michigan Express Route Extension
Southbound Morning Rush Periods - Buses will make stops along Michigan at Madison and Jackson, and at Congress Plaza/Harrison. Northbound Evening Rush Periods – Buses will begin their trips at Congress Plaza and make stops along Michigan at Jackson, Monroe and Madison.

#N201 Central/Ridge Route Change
N201 Central/Ridge (Owl) buses will now operate between Central/Ridge and the Howard (Red Line) station. This route will no longer operate between the Howard (Red Line) and Granville (Red Line) stations.
