Passes (Unlimited Ride Cards)

Unlimited-Ride Passes

Chicago on less than $6 a day!

You can enjoy unlimited rides on all CTA buses and trains with our 1-Day Fun Pass, or 3-day, 7-day or 30-day unlimited-ride passes. Your pass activates the first time you use it and is good for the number of consecutive days shown on the front of the pass. CTA's unlimited-ride passes make getting to Chicago's top attractions quick, easy and more affordable than cab rides or parking fees.

Note: CTA unlimited-ride passes are not valid on Metra (commuter railroad) trains or Pace buses (see exceptions)*. Passes cannot be shared or recharged.

  • Your Best Travel Value: Unlimited-ride passes offer you the most economical travel value. With unlimited rides, the more you ride, the more you save! Note: For multiple rides on CTA, Visitor Passes are a great option for kids, too. The regular cash fare for kids ages 7-11 is $1. Children under age 7 ride free.

*CTA/Pace 7-Day Pass and the CTA 30-Day Pass are valid on CTA and Pace non-premium/subscription routes.

Buying passes

You can buy your passes online from the CTA store, at certain train stations, or at retail locations around town.

Note: Pass Vending Machines (machines that vend unlimited ride passes) will be temporarily out-of-service on Wed., June 17 and Thu., June 18, 2009. Transit Card Vending Machines and Express Vending Machines are not affected.

Remember, you can also use a Chicago Card Plus as a 30-day pass, which recharges itself automatically so you never need to buy a new fare again.
