Subway trains rerouted to elevated tracks
Red Line subway trains will be rerouted to the elevated tracks between Cermak-Chinatown and Fullerton in both directions to allow for subway maintenance.
Trains will not stop at subway stations (see map below).
For fastest travel times, walk to the nearest ‘L’ station served by rerouted trains or use the free bus shuttle service offered between Fullerton and Clark/Lake in both directions.
Allow extra travel time.
*Entry/exit at Merchandise Mart station is via the Kinzie auxiliary entrance stairways, and requires a farecard (no vending machines), during hours when the building is closed. To make step-free transfers to Red Line trains during this time, consider shuttle buses to connect with Clark/Lake or Fullerton.

How does this affect my trip?
Trains in both directions will operate on the same track between Jefferson Park and Harlem (O’Hare branch), resulting in minor delays.

Service is affected due to IDOT maintenance on the Foster Bridge over I-90 (Kennedy Expressway).
