Full Description:
How does this affect my trip?
Brown Line trains will operate between Kimball and Merchandise Mart between 4am and 10pm weekdays. After 10pm weekdays, and on weekends, trains will operate between Kimball and Chicago only.
Free shuttle buses will operate between Chicago and Washington/Wells, making stops at LaSalle/Kinzie (for Merchandise Mart station) and at LaSalle/Lake (for Clark/Lake station), to make connections between rail lines.
A Loop Shuttle Train will operate continuously, making all stops on the Brown Line side of the Loop ‘L’, during all weekday hours where Brown Line service usually operates there.
During weekday rush periods, some Brown Line trains will operate to/from Downtown via the Red Line subway, making all Brown Line stops between Kimball and Fullerton and all Red Line stops between Fullerton and Roosevelt.
Purple Line Express trains will not operate between Howard and Downtown. Use Red Line trains instead.
Allow extra travel time. For more information and service alternatives, visit the Wells Street Bridge Reconstruction page.
Why is service being changed?
Train service over the Wells Street Bridge is temporarily suspended due to construction as part of CDOT’s Wells Street Bridge Reconstruction project.
