10/31/2011 Mayor Rahm Emanuel and CTA President Forrest Claypool Announce Station Renewal Initiative Mayor Rahm Emanuel and CTA President Forrest Claypool announced a new CTA station renewal initiative designed to provide a facelift to 100 CTA rail stations over the next 12 months. The first station to receive a renewal was the Logan Square Blue Line station, where the Mayor, President Claypool and Alderman Rey Colon (35th) made the announcement. (More...)

10/31/2011 CTA Provides Extra Service for Chicago Marathon From start to finish the CTA was prepared for one of the busiest days in Chicago – the 2011 Bank of America Chicago Marathon. CTA provided extensive bus and rail service to all participants and spectators heading to the race, and personnel were on hand to provide the crowds and visitors with information on how to travel on the CTA. 10/31/2011 2012 Budget Recommendations: Labor Reforms, Work Rule Changes Key to Preventing Increased Fares and Service Cuts CTA President Forrest Claypool proposed a $1.24 billion budget for 2012 that holds the line on fares and maintains current service levels, relying on deep management cuts and work rule changes from labor unions. The proposed budget is $66.2 million -- or 5.1 percent -- less than the 2011 budget. (More...)

03/08/2011 CTA Welcomes New Year with Train Tracker Pilot Launch The highly anticipated CTA Train Tracker (SM) officially launched last month. Mayor Richard M. Daley, Chicago Transit Board Chairman Terry Peterson and CTA President Richard L. Rodriguez announced the launch January 8 at CTA headquarters. Customers who want to receive estimated train arrival times for all 144 rail stations across CTA’s eight rail lines can now go to transitchicago.com and follow the link to the CTA Train Tracker site.
