As of July 2011, the State of Illinois Office of Executive Inspector General has jurisdiction over the Chicago region's transit boards: RTA, CTA, Metra and Pace.
The State OEIG’s jurisdiction encompasses the board members, officers, agents, contractors and employees of the CTA and the other regional boards to investigate among other things, allegations of waste, fraud, abuse or violations of the State Ethics Act.
